Honestly, I wasn’t too fond of this week’s comic book releases. Also, my weekend was a drunken haze and I don’t have time to review anything else, so I’m going for what I consider this week’s best comic: Flash Rebirth #5.

Who else agrees with me that the first three issues of Flash Rebirth was a mess? Barry was whining like crazy (I seriously wonder why Hal didn’t knock some sense into Barry), speedsters were dying in an attempt to create tension, and the death of Barry’s mom was shoehorned into the storyline while it made no sense at all.
This issue finally comes along and explans why Barry’s angsting all this time, and why his mom’s dead when it was established in previous continuity that his parents were alive to see Wally take up the mantle. Yeah the Reverse Flash was responsible for every bad shit that happened in Barry’s life. Heck, he even broke Barry’s arm in 6th grade. I mean, wtf, you have the power to go back in time and you push a kid down a flight of stairs? That motherfucker. Read the rest of this entry »

Well my good friend David and co-writer here on Comicgasm claims that I, as a Green Lantern fanatic and Geoff Johns’ worshipper am “in denial.”
But NOTHING is FURTHER from the truth! I’m sorry David, but if you think your arguments about Green Lantern Corps #42 are well placed, you are CLEARLY and UTTERLY WRONG!
Well I’m sure you readers are wondering what we argued about, and seriously I can’t believe David for his beliefs regarding this image on the issue:

You see, he wouldn’t BELIEVE me that the Green Lantern Kyle Rayner isn’t REALLY dead. As we know, DC has always had a thing for putting plot twists and Geoff Johns does that a lot. So why didn’t Hal Jordan continue on wearing the blue ring ei? That’s coz he’s trying to give us stuff WE WON’T EXPECT.
The reason why I’m making this post is because hilariously enough, nobody supports me on this! Everyone thinks I’M IN DENIAL and that Kyle is really dead and I need therapy. I even quit my job the day after this comic was released. (which of course, had NOTHING to do with this issue – coz again he isn’t really dead)
Nuff said! Now READERS, we all KNOW that he isn’t really dead right? right? RIGHT.
David you are WRONG! WRONG I TELL YOU! Umm can we stop talking about this? dagnabet! WBGKUE WIULEFN!

I may be indifferent to most of Mark Millar’s works, but Kick-Ass is one of my favorite comics. I just find it funny how the movie gets finished first before the graphic novel. I’m pretty sure all of us comic book nerds have dreamed of going out in a costume and fighting crime. In fact, you can all place bets on which Comicgasm writer will snap first and do a Kick-Ass! (My money’s on Fiel)
Speaking of the Kick-Ass movie, here’s the trailer. Relish it. It’s fucking awesome.
Kick-Ass, directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring Aaron Johnson, Nicolas Cage, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, opens in April 2010.

(Sorry, still picking my face up from the floor to make a suitable write-up)

REVIEWS: Amazing Spider-Man #610, Azrael #1, Captain America Reborn #4
Posted in DC, Marvel, ReviewsHonestly, I didn’t find most of this week’s releases great. I got an overpriced copy of Doom Patrol #4 (courtesy of RJ) so I can get that blasted Sinestro Corps Ring. Honestly I don’t know anything much about Doom Patrol except that the X-Men ripped them off. So reading it pretty much left me saying “Guh? Duh? Muh?” I’d probably enjoy reading it if I knew anything at all about the Doom Patrol’s history.
Anyway, the reviews!

They’re not finished with this Ben Reilly storyline yet? Dammit. Read the rest of this entry »
