Avengers Re-Assemble?

I know you people have been holding your breath for the longest time for this, but those looking for a grand reunion of the Avengers might see what they’re looking for in Marvel’s new four-issue event, called The Siege.
Written by Brian Michael Bendis and art by Olivier Coipel, The Siege spells the end of Norman Osborn’s Dark Reign. According to Bendis, the reunion of the big three (Iron Man, Captain America and Thor) is very instrumental to the end of Dark Reign. It’s a “seismic shift in the Avengers books” akin to that of Avengers Disassembled.
Will it also mean the return of the classic Avengers? I certainly hope so. Somehow, I wish that Steve Rogers would not be the Captain America involved in The Siege. I know, I know, there’s just no way Bucky can hold his ground when fighting alongside Tony Stark and the freaking God of Thunder, but there’s a part of me that wants Bucky to hold on to the shield a little longer.
I don’t know how Bendis can make Iron Man and Thor kiss and make up though. Also, how to make Hulk forgive the Illuminati for that “throwing him into space and accidentally killing his new adoptive planet” thing.
My point is that too many ties in the Marvel Universe have been severed too irrevocably by the last few status quo shakeups. I know the whole point of destroying the classic Avengers lineup is to make their return as sweet as possible, but please Marvel, don’t give us a cheap cop-out. We’ve followed this epic soap opera since Disassembled, and we want a satisfying, explosive reunion worth these years of waiting.
Tell me, what do you guys think of this? Is The Siege the event you’ve been waiting for, or is this a stupid copout that’ll end Dark Reign a bit too soon?
