Super Duper delayed reviews!
Posted in DC6 days delayed! I broke my record wooo! I’ve been Defendig the Ancients non-stop for the past 4 days, and have done NOTHING remotely productive. Go me!
On to business!
Amazons Attack #5:
This is actually a decent read compared to the first four issues. Still not worth your money though good thing I only downloaded it. Batman was there to save the day(as usual), heremoved the magical shield and unleashed the JLA and JSA on the Amazons and the Bana. I’m just glad this shitty arc’s finally ending.
Black Canary #4(of 4):
Can this be any easier to predict? Everything came true! Faking Sin’s death, Mia helping Sin to escape, then taking her to Connor to hide, even Canary’s answer to Ollie’s proposal. Oh well, at least I saw a pissed of Black Canary going crazy on those assassins.
This too:
I couldn’t help it, I chuckled.

So instead of making reviews, I disturbed my neighbors by playing non-stop Metal.

This week’s batch of comics are great, JLU #12, The Brave and the Bold #6, Countdown #37, hell Amazons Attack #5(though I didn’t buy it) was actually good this week.
But I’ll blog about them tomorrow maybe, for now I’ll only talk about The Flash and Booster Gold. They deserve their own post for making me all giggly inside.

Super Delayed Post! Batman #667, Batman Confidential #8, Black Adam #1, Countdown #38, Green Lantern #22, Outsiders: Five of a Kind #2, Incredible Hulk #109
Posted in DC, MarvelThis post is 5 days delayed. A new record woo! This would have been only 4 days delayed, but I spent most of my creative/writing juice making a blog post for the Dota Startegy Blog yesterday.
On to business!

Justice Society of America #8, Justice League: The New Frontier and Superman: Doomsday
Posted in DC, MoviesI was blog hopping yesterday looking for other comic geeks out there when I stumbled to Baddie and Shelly’s blogs when I realized something: I FORGOT TO GET JSA #8! Curse these defective eyes! Damn you Eye Expert! My new glasses was supposed to be ready a week ago!
Oh well, JSA was good as usual. And even though I hate Alex Ross, I iovedhis Liberty Belle cover. I’m also a big fan of speedsters, so seeing her regaining her superspeed was a real delight!
And for those of you who missed it, here’s the teaser for the animated feature:
Superman: Doomsday.
Fuck Yeah!
And of course, there’s finally a teaser of Justice League: The New Frontier.
I don’t know about you but if I was a girl, this would be my face right now:
I do have two qualms:
1.) Dan Didio was in the clip(though his epic failure was negated by Bruce Timm being there too)
2.) I will never accept anyone other than Kevin Conroy to voice Batman.
For those who are unfamiliar with this, DC: The New Frontier is a 6-issue mini series published in 2004. The story takes place during the 50’s - Post-WWII America. I absolutely loved it! The art/color was superb and the story was really well done.
However, I also have ONE qualm against it: Hal ‘The hero of the Silver Age’ Jordan was given too much of the spotlight. But even with that, it’s still a great read.
This also reminded me of something:
Never.
Ever.
EVER!
Mess with a Flash.
Any Flash.
Back on the real world, my mom is pissed at me right now. Apparently, all the ramen I got(filled more than half a shopping cart) when we went to Duty Free the other day costs $4 each. That’s like a new comic for every meal. Wow.
Oh well, not my money. Life goes on.
*eats ramen*

All New Atom #14, Black Canary #3, Countdown 39, Detective Comics #835, Nightwing #135, Metal Men #1, Outsiders: Five of a Kind #1, World War Hulk#3 and DC Films.
Posted in MISC, DC, Marvel, MoviesThis post is 3 days late. As expected.
Firstly, Detective Comics’ recent awesome streak hit it’s third straight issue. Dr. Crane aka Scarecrow’s ‘revival’ was well written, he no longer relies purely on his fear gas and has Bats confused and frustrated since he can no longer predict his moves. Perfect timing too, can you Imagine Dr. Crane, with a Sinestro Corps ring? No one understands fear like he does! DC better not screw this up!
Speaking of Bats, I’ve gathered rumors that there’s going to be a Batman Animu. No, not Big-O. It’s supposedly to take place in between Batman: Begins and Batman: The Dark Knight. Warner Bros. Animation declined to comment, so we’re still gathering more info.

Yet another rumor is that George Miller will be directing the JLA movie. This is more farfetched than the Batman animu, but we’re crossing our fingers on this one.
I’m actually more excited waiting for confirmed news like the animated features Superman: Doomsday, JLA: New Frontier(Silver Age JLA) and a still unconfirmed Teen Titans animated movie(No, it won’t be that weaboo Teen Titans GO crap. Hurray!). Note that non of the stories are in any way related to the current DCAU story since all of these are separate events based from the comics alone. The icing on the cake is that all of these are being presided over by Bruce Timm(creator of Batman: The Animated Series). Hurray!
Black Canary #3(of 4) was good, though I don’t think Ollie’s gonna have any teeth left on the next issue with the stunt he just did, too bad the made one too many clues on his true intentions.
Nightwing #135 and Outsiders: Five of a kind #1
I love it when Dick gets flashbacks.
Bonding sessions with old man Bats is fine too~
But with an ending like this, one must wonder where the Man Wonder will wind up next. I’m pretty sure he will leave the Outsiders. But this is only the first(of five) issue, DC has four more chances on making this win or fail.
This week’s countdown was actually amusing, but STILL nowhere near epic. The art improved dramatically though.
last week’s issue:
this week:
I half expected her to moonwalk though. Maybe next week.
I’ve ignored the New Atom until someone forced me to read issue #14.
Then I saw this:
HITLER WITH A JETPACK! HOW AWESOME IS THAT!?
Also, Ted Kord!
AWESOME!
Added this to clarify things. Yeah, I cried too.
The Metal Men’s revival was good too, I really liked the art. Hopefully, we’ll see more of Dr. Magnus and his Metal Men in other books too.
What the hell DC? What’s with you and bees?
And lastly, I was surprised at WWH#3, I really expected Sentry to step up this issue. But oh well, Super Saiyan Strange’s inevitable downfall will cover at least 1/3rd of the next issue, then hopefully Namor will do something. Anything. At least show up dammit!
Back on the mysterious world called real life, I’ve learned a few life lessons the past 4 days:
1. Spending a week’s worth of money(for food and other expenses) in one day. Bad idea. Worth it, but still not a good idea.
2. Surviving for 6 days with P80 worth of coins is plausible, but hard.
3. I’m a fucking lucky bastard who doesn’t need to live with instant noodles for 6 days anymore.
4. Duty Free’s meat section = Heaven. I ate around 2 full german franks and the free sample guy just kept on giving more!
5. I shall never EVER eat at Tokyo Tokyo again.
6. And last but not least, crossing the street at night without glasses. Bad idea. Stupid bike…

And of course,

Oh, and here’s a very lazy short summary of this week’s comics: The Amazons Attack arc is still sucking balls, I can’t believe DC thought this was actually a good idea/story. Countdown is FINALLY picking up, the story is interesting now, but it’s still nowhere near epic levels yet. And lastly, Hulk #108 is sorta meh, Rick Jones being useless as usual. Didn’t spend much on comics this week, blame the Simpsons movie(I have the Spider-Pig theme song! Wooo!) and randomly treating girls.
PS. Darksied is Awesome!

On to a slightly more serious rant, I recently read Batman Confidential #7 and I’m giving it to you straight: the writer needs to die in a fire.
That right there is the Joker talking to Harleen Quinzel(Harley Quinn) BEFORE either of them became psychotic criminals. Yes, this issue is about Joker’s origin. What’s so bad about that you say? Three words: The Killing Joke. One of the best Batman books ever that and until today, the only one that tells how The Joker came to be. The writer(Michael Green) was even proud that he remade the Joker’s origin because no other writer dared to do it before, maybe because it was good the way it was!? Sure it’s almost twenty years old but that’s not an excuse to totally remake his origin from a tragic accident to a bored douchebag.
Let’s compare, shall we?
The Killing Joke: One bad day/Tragic accident
Batman Confidential #7: Bored Douchebag
You be the judge.

I have no idea why I’m posting so soon but I completely forgot that I got Nightwing #134 and Countdown 43 2 days ago but forgot to read them.
Why can’t Dick get a decent security system in any of his apartments? His place has been intruded so many times before, you’d think he’d make precautions by now. Oh well. As for this week’s Countdown, most of it contains Bart Allen’s funeral, it’s not ‘meh’ as usual but not really outstanding. Oh well again.
And before I pretend to sleep and read Jack of Fables, here’s a random pic that both angered and amused me:

Good thing Batman’s plot armor deflected it to the Bat-Family instead!
…no wait
Damn you Dan Didio and your Make-things-worse Beam!
