Green Lantern Emerald Knights
by RJ on Jun.09, 2011, under DC, Green Lantern, Movies, Reviews
Okay. Pretty much EVERYONE is angry at DC right now, and for good reason. But let’s take a blue ring and sooth that RAGE for now and see something GOOD for a change.
I’m talking about Green Lantern Emerald Knights, DC’s latest direct-to-video feature film. And it is oh so very good. So good that I went back to liking Geoff Johns for a while. Man, that is crazy! Warning: this review is spoilerrific!
You know why it’s so damn good? Because it’s not centralized on just one character, *COUGH* HAL JORDAN *COUGH* but about the diverse members of the Green Lantern Corps. Hal got to be the story teller to an animu-looking rookie Arisia though. *insert statutory rape joke here*
Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters!
by Ade Magnaye on May.28, 2011, under DC, Green Lantern
We don’t usually do video games here on Comicgasm, but this is a Green Lantern game. Tied in with the upcoming movie that I’m actually looking forward to watching (despite the sucky costume), and here we go. It’s called Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters, and it looks pretty exciting.
Here’s the press release:
Inspired by the upcoming Warner Bros. Pictures’ superhero feature film Green Lantern, Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters soars onto game consoles this summer, extending the theatrical experience of one of DC Entertainment’s most popular superheroes. Players will use the most powerful weapon in the universe, the Green Lantern Power Ring, to build an array of weapons from green energy to defeat the Manhunters – an evil android race bent on destroying the Green Lantern Corps.
Packed with intergalactic missions, alien androids and out-of-this-world combat, Green Lantern: Rise of the Manhunters is an action-adventure videogame that delivers the Green Lantern experience right into the hands of gamers.
The game is launching on June 7, 2011, and is available for xBox 360, PS3, Wii, Nintendo DS, and Nintendo 3DS. Quick, like the Facebook page to get more news about this awesome new video game as it happens! They post new screenshots every Thursday, by the way!
New Green Lantern Trailer!
by Ade Magnaye on May.05, 2011, under DC, Green Lantern, Movies
Oh man, oh man, oh man. The new Green Lantern trailer is out, and i’m supposed to write a nice filler paragraph here explaining how excited I am for the new movie, also how much I hate Hal Jordan’s costume because really, fuck that shit that costume sucks. Anyway here’s the part where I’ll try to do a random segue so I can actually finish writing and just get on to the video, because, really it’s that awesome. I haven’t had decent sleep for a week already so please forgive my meta blogging jokes.
Finally: HAL JORDAN/SENESTRO SWORDFIGHT! KILLOWOG TALKING! MORE OF THAT MYSTERIOUS YELLOW CLOUD!
What do YOU think?
Green Lantern #65, Green Lantern Corps #59, Wolverine #8, Avengers Academy #12, Super Dinosaur #1

Wow, I had forgotten how much fun it is to spend an entire day just reading comics and celebrating 4/20. Doesn’t change the fact that almost every book released this week is NUTTY. What the hell, *insert publisher here*?
Case in point: Barbara Gordon making a NEW internet.
This is what I get for reading Batgirl.
Let’s start with GL #65 and GLC #59:
Yeah, okay. We knew the palette swap would happen sooner or later, it was inevitable. Yes, it was kinda stupid. This whole arc is kinda stupid. Hell, everything since Brightest Day is kinda stupid. Wait, what am I talking about again?
(Leaked?) Green Lantern Corps #59 Cover
by RJ on Apr.19, 2011, under DC, Green Lantern
A very credible source posted this image today. Because intentional or not, DC doesn’t have a preview image of GLC 59′s cover on their website. Granted, covers lie ALL THE TIME(fuck you, Winnick!), but hey! Wouldn’t hurt to speculate.
Red Lantern Guy Gardner: Check.
Blue Lantern Kyle Rayner: Okay. Now he really is Natu’s bitch!
Sinestro Corp Hal Jordan: Been there, done that. Violet pls.
Indigo Tribe John Stewart: Army fatigue and sniper rifle. Compassion. Sounds about right. Also, KLEK NOK.
Of course, the cover of Green Lantern Corps #60 has Kyle and John back in green so idk, stupid covers! Hell, they don’t even have rings in #58! Oh, and so far, War of the Green Lanterns is off to a bad start. Not as terrible as Brightest Day, but then few event books are. As for the Earth Lanterns’ palette swap, we’re gonna have to wait and find out if DC’s out to troll us(again). Greyest Afternoon, anyone?
