For the record, the disappearing villain with the flaming head is the Ultimate version of Mysterio. (Go figure.)

Also: Goth Gwen Stacy = TEH HOTTNESS.

Overall, I found the UCSM issue a little bland, and other than linking it to Ultimate continuity, there isn’t much to distinguish it from SMLMJ. Even the character designs are starting to resemble each other.

And finally, the Ultimates have *always* been a little more dickheaded than their “mainstream” counterparts, so that aspect is nothing unique. The only difference between UCA and the Ultimates is that Millar doesn’t bother giving us reason to care about the characters again, after the mess of Ultimatum.
