This is KomiKon Week at Comicgasm, and although I wasn’t there (something I so utterly regret), I had a good friend pick up a copy of Lyndon Gregorio’s Go-Beerkada: The Rise of the Jhologs.

Before I go on rambling about the review, the way my friend was able to acquire this little piece of comic book history is a bit of a story by itself. You see, ever since it was advertised on Beerkada’s website, I wanted to get my hands on Go-Beerkada.
So when KomiKon came and I didn’t have time to go there, I immediately bugged a friend to buy me a copy of Go-Beerkada. Unfortunately, he has never heard of Beerkada before. How the heck that happened, I don’t know. Anyway, he was going around Megatrade Hall looking for the elusive Beerkada graphic novel.
After a few minutes of futile searching, he got pissed off and loudly went “Asan ba ang lecheng Beerkada na yan ha? Kanina pa ako ikot ng ikot dito pero wala akong makitang Beerkada! Ano ba yang Beerkada graphic novel na yan? Leche!”
Turns out he was standing next to the Beerkada booth. And a smiling Lyndon Gregorio was looking at him.
“Yes,” he said. “This is where you can buy my epic graphic novel.”
In the end, to make up for a massive FML, my friend had the copy of Go-Beerkada signed.

Thank you my friend, and thank you Lyndon Gregorio for signing my copy even though I might be a creepy stalker/serial killer for all you know.
Anyway, I got to read this much-awaited graphic novel once I got home, and I’ll be writing down my thoughts on it in Part 2!
