Welcome back! Don't forget to subscribe to the Comicgasm RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
I know you’re all expecting my Best and Worst Cosplay post so you can ogle at scantily clad teenagers, but I’m experiencing Internet problems(read: forgot to pay the bills again) so I made this post while leeching wifi from various establishments.

So here’s the MCC experience from the defective eyes of yours truly:
DAY 1
Shock and Horror
You reach the 5th floor of SM Megamall and the first thing you see is a man dressed as a gothic lolita. ’nuff said. Near the ticket booth are animu characters that you don’t recognize; no complaints about them, manga = comics after all. And then you realize half of them are actually men(I am not homophobic, except maybe in cons). Oh, and more gothic lolitas.
Rage and Despair
You enter the megatrade hall, expecting to see your favorite superheroes. Only to find.. You’ve guessed it, more gothic lolitas! You try your best to look for any western/local comic book characters but end up seeing a man in a school girl outfit.
Hope
You see the left side of the hall and you suddenly have an erection. After pretending not to notice that minor with a miniskirt that passed by, you see shit tons of cheap comic books, toys, etc. Your urge to kill is replaced by the overwhelming need to browse through every single booth to find rare gems in those P20/issue boxes.
Bliss
Your eyes widen, you scratch them so you’d be sure. Is that..a Red Lantern Shirt? Why yes, yes it is! You reach the Comic Kolektor Philippines booth and give a them a hug. They just made your day! You wear your shirt and it releases all of your rage and anger. This day can only get better from here.
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
High
Things suddenly become surreal. You buy a bunch of cheap comics. You meet various artists(amateur and professional), fellow comic geeks and collectors. You have a sense of belonging. Everything becomes a blur, suddenly it’s time to leave. You go home and sleep with a smile on your face.
Me and Jonas Diego
DAY 2
Apathy then Shock(the good kind)
You arrive late afternoon. By this time, you’ve gotten used to the weeaboos, gothic lolitas and crossdressers. There is a sudden burst of cute(and legal :D) cosplayers. Wait, is that Jean Grey? Spawn? Psylocke! Holy Fuck, DARNA! (pics in my next post, I’m doing this on purpose)
Hilarity and Awe
The cosplay competition/catwalk starts. The good, the bad and the ugly. But most of them were good, really good. You can tell which costume had blood, sweat and other bodily fluids spent to make them. Some of them have choreographed fight scenes; some were good, most were bad. All of them were funny, to us at least. And then.. they came on stage. The Watchmen group skit. It was SO damn awesome, I can’t even begin to describe it so I won’t. (Still trying to scour the interwebs for a clip, give me a heads up if you have/find one.)
Enlightenment(and maybe arousal)
The Watchmen musical ends and the rest of the group skits were ignored. You go near Dr. Manhattan and he assumes that you want to have a photo with him, he obliges. Little does he know your sinister plan and your fascination with blue penises. You grab his black undewear and pose as you say to yourself: “My life is complete”.
BEST. CON. EVAR.

Patience is a virtue.
Also, until I find a wifi hotspot that’s fast enough to upload all of the cosplay pictures I stole from various people.
