Oh look, it’s me again, battling a fever so I can write up the blogosphere’s best (even though it’s a few days deleyed) comic book reviews!
Adventure Comics #5

I didn’t like Adventure Comics #4, for some reason. Maybe I was accustomed to Blackest Night tie-ins taking themselves too seriously that I totally got lost in the wacky fourth wall-breaking issue.
That said, I also found Superboy-Prime’s fate in Legion of Three Worlds too perfect already and I was pissed off seeing him back in uniform.
Thank God Geoff Johns brought Superboy-Prime back for this one. It was hilarious seeing him crash the DC Comics offices and seeing the various DC writers and artists run for their lives. People have been complaining that Superboy-Prime’s just a one-dimensional caricature of the rabic comic book fanboy, but I’ve always loved Superboy-Prime because he was exactly that.
The little attempt to redeem Superboy-Prime near the end felt a bit forced, but this feels like a better ending for the character more than anything. Okay, let’s leave Superboy-Prime alone for a little while ok? He’s in a perfect place now.
Invincible Iron Man #21

SPOILER ALERT Steve Rogers is back, and he and Bucky are both Captain America, and Thor just shot a bolt of thunder to Tony’s heart using Cap’s shield to restart it! /SPOILER ALERT
That’s basically the most interesting thing that happened here. Ok, it’s all a bunch of talk (of course we can’t expect too many explosions and fistfights when this issue is all medical drama) but it’s an awesome examination of Tony’s supporting cast.
Can’t help but feel that it was all too soon though. I’d like to see Tony comatose for a few more months.
