First Look At Ryan Renolds as Hal Jordan in Green Lantern

Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern in Entertainment Weekly

Err… okay. So. Here’s Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan in the upcoming Green Lantern movie. RJ likes the damn thing, but… I dunno. Not exactly a fan of the glowing lines going around the suit. Also the old-school ring isn’t doing anything for me; they should’ve used the newer ring designs. I like the mask though. I’ve always thought that Ryan Reynolds as Hal is an oddball casting choice, but it’s a gamble that just might work, especially with Martin Campbell at the helm.

Anyway, that’s the costume. What do you think?

Green Lantern Movie Logo! Teaser Images!

by Ade Magnaye on Jun.11, 2010, under DC, Green Lantern, Movies

I’m pretty sure you guys are all aware by now that us guys at Comicgasm are all huge Green Lantern nerds. And we’re obviously excited for the new Green Lantern Movie, starring Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, Blake Lively (HHHNNNNGH) as Carol Ferris, Peter Sarsgaard as Hector Hammond, and Mark Strong as Sinestro. Okay, we’re not exactly excited with the guy playing Hal Jordan, but Martin Campbell’s directing this, and if Casino Royale is any indication, this movie is going to be awesome.

A few months before, we’ve seen some concept art of the GL movie leak. We don’t know if those were the concepts they used for the movie, but they were awesome. Now, from MTV, we have here newly-revealed promo art for Green Lantern. (continue reading…)

Lantern Corps Part 3

by magnusarkade on Mar.19, 2010, under DC, Events, Green Lantern

Ok. Hello again guys and gals. Here’s the third portion of the Lantern corps series of posts.  I’m sorry for the uber late post.  Apparently, work + writing = no progress whatsoever.  But now, I was able to finally find the time to finish this.  Anyways, the corps to be tackled here are the Orange lanterns and the Blue lanterns (yes Fiel, I know you’ve been waiting for this…).  So, without further ado, here we go.

Guys, I’m NOT in denial, OK?

by nhojleif on Nov.16, 2009, under DC, Green Lantern

Well my good friend David and co-writer here on Comicgasm claims that I, as a Green Lantern fanatic and Geoff Johns’ worshipper am “in denial.”

But NOTHING is FURTHER from the truth! I’m sorry David, but if you think your arguments about Green Lantern Corps #42 are well placed, you are CLEARLY and UTTERLY WRONG!

Well I’m sure you readers are wondering what we argued about, and seriously I can’t believe David for his beliefs regarding this image on the issue:

GL Corps #42 025

You see, he wouldn’t BELIEVE me that the Green Lantern Kyle Rayner isn’t REALLY dead. As we know, DC has always had a thing for putting plot twists and Geoff Johns does that a lot. So why didn’t Hal Jordan continue on wearing the blue ring ei? That’s coz he’s trying to give us stuff WE WON’T EXPECT.

The reason why I’m making this post is because hilariously enough, nobody supports me on this! Everyone thinks I’M IN DENIAL and that Kyle is really dead and I need therapy. I even quit my job the day after this comic was released. (which of course, had NOTHING to do with this issue – coz again he isn’t really dead)

Nuff said! Now READERS, we all KNOW that he isn’t really dead right? right? RIGHT.

David you are WRONG! WRONG I TELL YOU! Umm can we stop talking about this? dagnabet! WBGKUE WIULEFN!

The New Justice League of America: Wait, WTF?

by Ade Magnaye on Sep.21, 2009, under DC, WTF

Starting issue 38, a new Justice League of America will be formed. The team will be formed of Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Green Arrow, the Atom, Batman, Mon-El, Donna Troy, Cyborg, Doctor Light, Starfire, Congorilla, and the Guardian.

Okay, what? This is probably the least iconic JLA I’ve ever seen. I totally loved the JLA lineup during the Morrison era, and understandably they had to give that lineup a rest. I also liked the Meltzer lineup as well, although I’m disappointed they disbanded that group way before they could be given great stories. (continue reading…)
