And the SDCC goodies just keep on coming. Warner Brothers has just released teaser posters for the upcoming Green Lantern movie starring Ryan Reynolds. We have four posters in all, featuring a portion of the Green Lantern oath, and as much as I hate the (unfinished) Green Lantern costume, the posters are giving me hope for this film.

Iron Man 2 came, went, made gazillions of money, made geeks orgasm, and probably left the non-nerd part of the audience scratching their heads in bewilderment. Critics have panned this movie to high heavens, while nerds continued to orgasm all the way to the third viewing. But who cares? Comicgasm editors RJ and Ade weigh in on how awesome or stupid the movie is.

WARNING: this review contains major spoilers for Iron Man 2.

Ade: Okay, so, honestly I thought Iron Man 2 was a tighter movie than its predecessor. It’s got better action sequences, the movie didn’t lose any steam by the third act, and oh my goodness they seem to have an actual script this time. Although I can’t definitely say that it’s a better movie than the first one; there’s absolutely no way any scene in Iron Man 2 can defeat the glorious origin story of the first movie.

RJ: Suffering from conjunctivitis, my eyes were leaking mucopurulent discharge non-stop. I had to force my right eye to not swell for the duration of this film with willpower alone. Anything moderately bright burns my eyes, but all those explosions were totally worth not being able to see after the movie!

Ade: Um, okay, RJ. Thanks for that… insightful and way too revealing bit of information. So if anyone went to Iron Man 2 and ended up with conjunctivitis, it’s RJ’s fault. Anyway, before I go on with this scholarly review of the film, may I complain about Oliva Munn’s cameo? I was hoping that she’d be all hot like The Scarlet Witch or The Wasp, but no, she had to end up as a reporter. Way to go, Marvel, great way to waste talent. What I’m saying, Marvel, is that Olivia Munn needs to be dressed up as a hyper-sexualized superheroine that will claim to be for the benefit of the fairer sex but in reality it’s just an excuse for her to be in a skin-tight latex costume with her cleavage showing for us nerds to ogle at. Mmmm. Tits.

If you guys remember, the very excellent TMNT cartoon was cancelled because Mirage Studios had to sell the property to Nickelodeon. Sure, it was heartbreaking and all, but at least they’ve given us the awesome Turtles Forever as a fitting send off.

So, over at Latino Review, they’ve received a mysterious image of a Ninja Turtle head, purportedly from a new live-action movie. From the site:

Back when I was working for another site, I was contacted by a person who will remain anonymous. Said person was ready to leak what they claimed to be the plot of the new, re-booted TMNT Live Action movie if the person they were working for at that time screwed them.

I was hesitant, but kept in contact just in case.

Anonymous Dude disappeared after a brief e-mail that he had re-connected with the TMNT staff and wouldn’t need me to light a fire under anyone’s ass. I still don’t know if it was a guy with a paranoid dillusion or a guy with the actual new TMNT story somewhere on his desk. I kind of don’t want to know, considering it all ended up being inconsequential.

Once again, something has rolled into my inbox with absolutely no explanation. I’m not sure it needs one.

And here’s the new-look Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle:

Okay. Gamma Squad was fooled for a while, but came out and said that this was just fan art. No details as of the moment, though. But if this is indeed real, I am going berserk because THAT IS NOT HOW THE TURTLES SHOULD LOOK LIKE GODDAMMIT.

So, more art, allegedly from the Green Lantern movie, surfaced. These are apparently concept art and like the previous batch of images, they’re depicting how the characters will look like in the movie. Now we have Sinestro and a Guardian of the Universe. The Guardian picture is consistent with the previous ones, and Sinestro’s artwork looks a bit different.

Of course, there’s a catch. I can’t find any site with an official source confirming that this is indeed concept art from the film, but a person on TheGreenLanternCorps.com’s forum stated that they knew an unnamed source who had stated these images were concept art from the movie.

I don’t know if these are real or not, but I’m blown away just the same. Apparently, Green Lantern movie concept art has been leaked and… Christ, it’s perfect. I’m going to shut up now and I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves:

If these are indeed the real thing, then I can say that they are getting it totally right! Unlike the abomination of the previous concept art that was going around the internet before, they’re actually using the classic costumes! I like this. I hope this is indeed legit, and the movie becomes awesome.

By the way, those images came from Cosmic Book News, where they also managed to somehow get their hands on a GL script. They’ve posted a spoiler-filled summary of the script. Again, take it with a grain of salt.
