The New Green Lantern of Sector 2814…

by on Jul.14, 2011, under DC, Green Lantern, News

So Magnusarkade is totally raging right now because of the conclusion of the War of the Green Lanterns, which [SPOILER FUCKING ALERT] left Hal Jordan banished from the Corps after killing Krona. LOL.

Anyway, the solicit and the alternate cover of Green Lantern #1, released in time for the rebooted DCnU, just came in. And we have some disturbing news for you, son. The cover is after the cut. Spoiler alert again.

New Green Lantern Trailer!

by on May.05, 2011, under DC, Green Lantern, Movies

Oh man, oh man, oh man. The new Green Lantern trailer is out, and i’m supposed to write a nice filler paragraph here explaining how excited I am for the new movie, also how much I hate Hal Jordan’s costume because really, fuck that shit that costume sucks. Anyway here’s the part where I’ll try to do a random segue so I can actually finish writing and just get on to the video, because, really it’s that awesome. I haven’t had decent sleep for a week already so please forgive my meta blogging jokes.

Finally: HAL JORDAN/SENESTRO SWORDFIGHT! KILLOWOG TALKING! MORE OF THAT MYSTERIOUS YELLOW CLOUD!

New All-Star Superman Animated Movie Teaser Trailer

by on Sep.24, 2010, under DC, Movies, News

I don’t think that there’s anyone here who doesn’t like Grant Morrison’s All-Star Superman. The 12-issue miniseries was very, very close to perfect, giving us the idealized version of Superman and it showed us how everyone since after John Byrne got the character all wrong.

When DC announced that they are making an Original Animated Movie adaption of All-Star Superman, I was a little apprehensive even though Dwayne McDuffie was writing it. Don’t get me wrong – I am very, very excited to see an animated All-Star Superman movie, but there’s just way too many things to screw up with a near-perfect comic book.

Now we have the first teaser trailer for All-Star Superman, and even though I have a few gripes with it, which I will discuss later, it makes me all the more excited for the movie. Trailer after the jump!

Seven New Green Lantern Movie Aliens!

by on Aug.20, 2010, under DC, Green Lantern, Movies

Over at Comicbookmovie.com, they have gotten their hands on seven Green Lantern aliens from the upcoming movie starring Ryan Reynolds, and if they are legit, the movie costumes and character designs are pretty close to the comics – with the exception of Hal Jordan’s costume, of course.

The seven aliens are Boodikka, Bzzd, Morro, Galius Zed, M’Dahna, Rot Lop Fan, and Salaak.

The images are after the break.

Dead Avengers?

by on Aug.17, 2010, under Marvel, News

CWDA001_COV_02So Fred Van Lente is going to write a new Avengers series to add to the current batch of Avenger titles that are going out monthly. Seriously, Avengers, New Avengers, Secret Avengers (which is awesome), Avengers Prime (which would be awesome if Tony Stark stopped acting like a man-child) and Mighty Avengers – it’s like the X-Men, you guys.

It was speculated that Fred Van Lente’s going to write a “Space Avengers” book, led by Nova – and we all know how awesome that would sound. But then Marvel actually took an interesting, albeit head-scratching decision, to make Dead Avengers.

Basically, the three-issue Chaos War tie-in sees The Vision, Captain Mar-Vell, Yellowjacket, Swordsman, Deathcry and Dr. Druid back to life as they fight one of the Chaos king’s allies, who is an Avengers villain.

Okay, the timing of this book couldn’t be more terrible because at DC, Geoff Johns and company is rolling out the uneven Brightest Day, which has a similar concept – heroes coming back to life. Which is a shame, though, because I’m pretty sure Marvel can outdo DC in this.

All in all, Dead Avengers looks like it’s going to be a fun book – I mean dead non-zombie heroes come the fuck on – but I’m wondering why they had to put out this series now.
