Blue and Gold Filler: Chocos!
by RJ on Nov.02, 2009, under DC, Story Time, filler
Welcome back! Don't forget to subscribe to the Comicgasm RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
We interrupt your regularly scheduled filler for a super special B&G filler! Blue Beetle and Booster Gold – best comic book couple duo ever! Yes, B&G is totally more fabulous than B&R!
And coz I love you guys, I’m posting a whole 22-page comic book in this here filler post! Story Time! From the pages of Martian Manhunter #24, we go down memory lane to the 1990′s incarnation of the Justice League. Most people in the DCU remember the 90′s JLI/JLE as the embarrassing era of the League, and they’re probably right. But most old fans would agree with me when I say that the JLI/JLE is the most amusing era of the league. We will never forgive DC for giving us Identity Crisis. Never.

Avengers Re-Assemble?
by Ade Magnaye on Oct.13, 2009, under Iron Man, Marvel

I know you people have been holding your breath for the longest time for this, but those looking for a grand reunion of the Avengers might see what they’re looking for in Marvel’s new four-issue event, called The Siege.
Written by Brian Michael Bendis and art by Olivier Coipel, The Siege spells the end of Norman Osborn’s Dark Reign. According to Bendis, the reunion of the big three (Iron Man, Captain America and Thor) is very instrumental to the end of Dark Reign. It’s a “seismic shift in the Avengers books” akin to that of Avengers Disassembled. (continue reading…)
REVIEWS: Amazing Spider-Man #606, Archie #601, Superman: Secret Origin #1
by Ade Magnaye on Sep.25, 2009, under DC, Marvel, Reviews
Hey guys, the reviews are back. I’m taking a break from my “pleasuring Comicgasm’s secret harem of hot and willing women” duties to take some time to actually read some comics and write a review.
By the way, if you haven’t heard yet, Comicgasm is a finalist in the 2009 Philippine Blog Awards! We’d like to thank our readers (both of you) and our mothers for constantly visiting this blog. And because we’re going to party like it’s 1993 after this review, I’m going to put on my YAY! face.

This is my YAY! face
Amazing Spider-Man #606
As usual, Peter Parker’s problems pile up and he’s all mister whiney mcdouche again. But it doesn’t mean we can’t sit back and enjoy and say “whew, am I ever so glad that shit isn’t happening to me.” (continue reading…)
Delayed Reviews: Invincible Iron Man #17, Ultimate Comics Avengers #2, Red Robin #4
by Ade Magnaye on Sep.13, 2009, under DC, Marvel, Reviews

Hey-yo! It’s Sunday you guys and as you all know it’s time for me to talk about comics that are over a few days old and most probably this review is of no use to you already. Yeah.
Also everyone else is MIA. Um, guys?
Ultimate Comics Avengers #2

I like where this story is heading. Okay, the fact that my favorite Marvel characters are acting like major dicks is still bugging me, but at the same time, it’s kind of growing on me already. (continue reading…)
Viking Special: Sven, The Immortal! Northlanders #20 and Vinland Saga
by RJ on Sep.08, 2009, under Manga, Vertigo
He is known by many names; Sven of Orkney, Sven the Returned, Sven Old-man McBadass. Yes folks, Sven is back! And he is OLD! Set several decades after he left Orkney with his wife Enna, his name became a legend in the Viking World. And The Viking World had a lot of young dumbasses; idiots that had everything to prove, eager for a reputation, stupid enough to seize glory by slaying viking legend Sven.
Sven, the mighty viking of epic tales and poems had become Sven the exile. He and his family had tried living a peaceful normal life, until these young vikings found him. This is where Sven goes Viking Clint Eastwood on them and tells them to get off his lawn, which at that time meant brutally murdering them all.
